Hi, I’m Richard Huey,

I’mI’m a 44-year-old husband and father struggling to find time to keep myself in shape. Working a fulltime job, a long commute, and constant kids’ activities, it is hard to find time to eat right and stay in shape. 

My past weightloss experiences

I am what you would refer to as a yo-yo dieter. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I would lose significant weight and then slowly regain the weight over a few months or years. There would always be an excuse to justify why I wasn’t able to keep the weight off, but it was because I got lazy. 

Every time I regained the weight, I would gain more weight than before. The first time I was around 240 lbs and lost 70 pounds. I was able to keep the weight off for nearly a decade. Over that time, I did a lot of weight training and put on almost 40 lbs of lean body mass. But then I got lazy, and over the next five years, I gained over 70 pounds, hitting 282 lbs. In 2015, I lost over 70 lbs in less than 12 weeks. During that last weight loss, I was able to finally figure out what foods made me gain weight and what foods helped me to lose weight fast. It was not only the food but also a strict workout schedule that made the rapid weight loss possible. But then some changes in my personal life prevented me from keeping the weight off (just an excuse, I got lazy). 

Now I have gained about 90 lbs and am tipping the scale at close to 300 pounds. 

I am about to lose 90 lbs, again

I will be documenting my latest weight loss journey on this blog, social media, and my YouTube channel. This will help to keep me accountable and share my experiences for anyone that may be going through the same challenges. I will also be sharing recipes and workouts that will valuable to anyone trying to lose significant weight.
